Consul-General Li Dong calls on the Minister for Police, Emergency and Correctional Services of South Australia

On 31 October, Consul-General Li Dong called on South Australia's Minister for Police, Emergency and Correctional Services, Mr. Joe Szakacs, to exchange views on the safety and security of Chinese nationals  residing in South Australia and tourists and consular protection assistance. Consul-General Li expressed his gratitude to the SA Police for their strong support in ensuring the Consulate-General’s smooth operation and carrying out consular protection work.

Minister Szakacs congratulated Consul-General Li on his arrival, stressing that the State Police Department and the relevant federal departments will ensure the security of foreign diplomatic and consular offices in SA and the safety of expatriates and international students. He said that SA welcomes the arrival of Chinese tourists and looks forward to the further development of friendly and cooperative relations with China.

The two sides also had in-depth and friendly exchanges on other issues of common concern. Deputy Consul-General He Jiangchuan and Minister Szakacs' Chief of Staff attended the meeting.
