On October 25, 2018, Acting Consul-General Yuncai Mei was invited to attend the opening ceremony of the OzAsia Festival. South Australia Governor Hieu Van Le, Assistant Minister to the Premier Jing Lee, Adelaide Festival Centre CEO Douglas Gautier and OzAsia Festival Artistic Director Joseph Mitchell also attended.

Mr. Mei congratulated the successful holding of the festival and discussed with other guests on cultural and artistic exchanges and mutual learning between China and Australia. He expected the ever-enhanced and increasingly rich cooperation in arts and humanities between the two sides will bring more and better high-level contemporary culture works from China to South Australia, thereby bringing the hearts of our two peoples closer.

OzAsia Festival is Australia's leading international arts festival engaging with Asia. It has been held in Adelaide for 12 consecutive years, presenting the very best in theatre, music, literature, film, visual art and unique events like lantern parade, dragon boat races, etc. attracting more than 200,000 people every year. The 2018 OzAsia festival is held from October 25th to November 11th, with more than 800 artists from over 20 countries and regions actively involved. Among them, there are 15 programs from China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan), covering drama, dance, film, music, lectures and so on.
