Consul-General HE Lanjing Attended the “Renao Street” Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival

On 18 October, the University of Adelaide held "Renao Street" public cultural event on campus to celebrate Chinese traditional festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival. Consul-General HE Lanjing attended by invitation.

"Renao Street" is part of the OzAsia Festival running from 17 October to 3 November, 2019. The event, open from midday to 5:00 pm, featured a variety of stalls, including lantern making, traditional food tasting, Chinese tea ceremony, music and martial arts performances as well as fun games. Lots of staff, students and visitors were attracted to this bustling hive. It is a first Chinese cultural showcase of its kind hosted by the University of Adelaide.

Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Peter Rathjen said in his welcoming remarks, that the Adelaide university currently has more than 8,000 international students, of which over 50% come from China and more than half of its faculty are from overseas. They not only contribute to the local economic development, but also play an important role in enriching the university’s cultural diversity and expanding its international vision.
