Consul-General HE Lanjing Visited the Rural City of Murray Bridge

On 26 February, Consul-General HE Lanjing led a team of the Chinese Consulate-General to the Rural City of Murray Bridge and met with Mayor Brenton Lewis and listened to the briefings by local businesses.

    

Mayor Lewis extended a warm welcome to Consul-General HE on her second visit and introduced the City’s development plan, business environment and major projects. He fully acknowledges that thethe Chinese migrants are hard working and trustworthy, and they have made positive contributions to local economic growth, social progress and multicultural prosperity. The City Council hopes to work together with the Consulate-General to attract more Chinese to Murray Bridge, enhance cooperation between local regions and cultivate friendship between the two peoples. Representatives of Murray Bridge’s dairy products, pork processing and mushroom farming businesses gave presentations respectively while the Murraylands Multicultural Resource Centre  made an introduction on the local engagement of the Chinese community.

Consul-General HE appreciated the Mayor’s kind invitation and all the briefings. She gave an overview of the practical cooperation between China and South Australia, saying that the Chinese market is growing fast and the Murray Bridge is most welcome to the China International Import Expo. The Consulate-General will keep in contact with the City Council and work together to provide the Chinese migrants with a good environment for working and living, and to promote the mutually beneficial cooperation and the friendly relations between us two. Consul-General HE also updated them on the situation of China’s combat against COVID-19.
