During the event, Acting Consul General Wang Hongsun engaged in warm conversations with the guests, teachers, and students, highlighting that the Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday, also known as the "Reunion Festival." On this day, people gather to admire the moon, enjoy mooncakes, and carry lanterns illuminated by the full moon, symbolizing their wishes for a harmonious and happy life while sending thoughts and blessings to distant relatives. As the only Chinese-English bilingual school in South Australia, Plympton International College's celebration of traditional Chinese festivals is highly meaningful. Acting Consul General Wang Hongsun expressed hope that through this event, everyone could deepen their understanding of Chinese traditional culture, experience the charm of Chinese civilization, and have the opportunity to visit China in the future.

Principal Amy Whyte welcomed Acting Consul General Wang Hongsun’s attendance at the event and thanked the Consulate General for its ongoing support bilingual education in both English and Chinese of the college. She noted that the curriculum helps broaden students' international perspectives, and the college is committed to continuing its positive role in promoting Sino-Australian educational cooperation and exchange.
