On October 12，Consuls Yang Yigang and Sun Yigao，heads of relevant sections of the Consulate-General of China in Adelaide invited to attend the new season launch ceremony of the Adelaide Lightning Women's Basketball Team，held at the South Australian Sports Institute. South Australian Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing Rhiannon Pearce，the CEO of Australian National Basketball League (NBL) David Stevenson，Adelaide Lightning Women's Basketball Team heads  Mohan Koo and Melanie Melanie MacGillivra，South Australian Sports Institute Director Keren Faulkner，and more than 100 local representatives from various sectors attended. The Consulate-General's representatives thanked Minister Pearce for her support to the sports cooperation between China and South Australia，exchanged views with the South Australian Sports Institute on friendly exchanges with relevant parties in Shandong Province of China，learned the team's plan to strengthen friendly interactions with the local Chinese community，and wished the team outstanding results in the new season.

The Adelaide Lightning Women's Basketball Team is the only professional women's basketball team in South Australia.
