On 11 June 2026, Consul-General Li Dong hosted a farewell reception at the Adelaide Marriott Hotel. More than 160 guests, including Hon Joe Szakacs, Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, representing Hon Premier of South Australia, Hon Reggie Martin, President of the Legislative Council of South Australia, Hon Nat Cook, Speaker of the House of Assembly of South Australia, Federal MP Ms Louise Miller-Frost, Mr James Robinson, Acting Deputy Director of the SA State Office of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr Dong Henglin, President of the Adelaide Branch of the China Chamber of Commerce in Australia, Mr Sean Keenihan, President of the Australia China Business Council SA Branch, and Mr Gu Xiongwen, President of the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Australia, and representatives from South Australia’s political, business, scientific, educational and cultural sectors, members of SA Consular Corps, representatives of local Chinese community, Chinese enterprises and Chinese students, attended the event.
