On 5 September, the China and South Australia Youth Table Tennis Friendship Event, organised by the Chinese Consulate-General in Adelaide and co-organised by the Houghton and East Adelaide Table Tennis Club, took place at the Newton Sports Complex in Adelaide. Approximately 50 people attended, including young diplomats from the Consulate-General, representatives from the South Australian HEATT Club, local youth table tennis players from China and South Australia, coaches and parents. The event took place in a cheerful and joyful atmosphere. The young participants interacted happily, whilst players, coaches and parents cheered them on enthusiastically. The venue was filled with fun and laughter. The Consulate-General welcomes more young people and parents from South Australia to visit China to gain a true and comprehensive understanding of the country and to experience first-hand the reality of China’s interactions and cooperation with other nations, particularly Australia. It is hoped that the young players will work together to strengthen the bonds of friendship, actively participate in the stable, healthy and sustainable development of China–Australia bilateral relations, and become grassroots ambassadors for fostering mutual understanding and friendship between China and Australia, and between China and South Australia.
