On October 6, Acting Consul-General Wang Hongsun sent a letter to South Australian Governor-designate Grant Stevens, congratulating him on his appointment that day as the 37th Governor of South Australia. He expressed that the Chinese Consulate-General in Adelaide is willing to work together with Governor-designate to continue promoting the steady development of relations between China and South Australia. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Sister-State Relationship between China's Shandong Province and South Australia, and it is hoped that the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two sides will become even closer and stronger. The Chinese community in South Australia has made important contributions to local prosperity and multiculturalism, and it is hoped that the Governor-designate will continue to reinforce strong support to the Chinese community.
