On 19 October, Acting Consul-General Wang Hongsun met with a delegation led by Chen Wenfang, President of the Hakka Association of South Australia, who were about to embark on a ‘journey to trace their roots’ to their ancestral homeland. He encouraged overseas Chinese in South Australia to visit their ancestral homeland and hometowns more often, so that whilst exploring the deep-rooted connections between themselves and Chinese culture, they might also experience first-hand China's rapid and continuous development and make more contributions to the friendly exchanges between China and Australia.

President Chen Wenfang expressed his gratitude to the Consulate General for its long-standing support to the local Chinese community, stating that organizing fellow compatriots to visit China to trace their roots had been a long-cherished wish of his, and that he hoped more members of the Chinese community would return to their ancestral homelands to visit in the future.
