Acting Consul-General Yuncai Mei attended “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition

On May 16th, the 17th Preliminary Final of "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students was held at the University of Adelaide.

Yuncai Mei, the acting Chinese Consul-General in Adelaide; Xiao Xu, the Minister-Counsellor of the Education Office of Chinese Embassy in Australia; Professor Nancy Cromar, the¡¡Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) of the University of Adelaide; Dr. Ning Zhang, Interim Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Adelaide; Nanchuan Liu, Chinese Vice-Consul in Adelaide; representatives from SA government and related educational organizations; student and teacher representatives from the participating universities watched the competition.

Contestants from ACT, SA, WA and NT delivered unscripted speeches in Chinese and presented talent shows relevant to Chinese culture. Guests and student audiences were also actively engaged.

Contestants who won the 1st and 2nd place will enter the finals in China later this year.
